Layout and Print Window - Print Correction Dialog Box

Print Correction Dialog Box for RAW data

Click the Image Correct button in the Layout and Print window to show the Print Correction dialog box.

This section tells you how to make automatic correction settings that are applied when printing photos. For details on making settings, see Making Corrections to Photos

Note:
When you close the Print Correction dialog box, the corrections you made are not reflected in the preview image in the Layout and Print window. The corrections are reflected directly to the printouts. Examine the results of your corrections on the printouts themselves.

The following table explains the items in the Print Correction dialog box.

Fit to Window

Select the check box to view the entire image in the preview area.

Help

Click this button to show the help information for the screen currently displayed.

Auto Correct

PhotoEnhance

PhotoEnhance is an original EPSON technology that automatically improves the print quality of images in a document. PhotoEnhance works most effectively for photos with 16,770,000 colors (24-bit) information. It does not work effectively for photos with less color information, such as 256 colors.

PRINT Image Matching

Reproduces the characteristics of images captured by a PRINT Image Matching compatible digital camera.
For details on PRINT Image Matching, see Exif Print and PRINT Image Matching.

None

Removes all filters and returns the image to its original state.

Scene Correction*

Standard

For ordinary photos.

People

Enhances the skin tone in photos of people.

Landscape

Enhances the colors of the sky and the greenery in landscape photos.

Night Scene**

Adjusts the contrast in night scenes.

Scene Correction Level*

A slider lets you adjust the level of scene correction.

Monochrome*

Prints in grayscale. If this check box is selected, Skin Radiance correction in the Portrait Enhance dialog box is not applied.

Vivid & Clear

Adjusts the photo to give it a high-contrast, sharp appearance.

Brightness

A slider lets you adjust the brightness of the photo.

Digital Camera Correction*

Reduces the visible noise that can occur in digital camera images.
Standard: Reduces the standard color noise.
Beautiful Skin: Gives the smooth, natural appearance of skin.

Red-Eye Fix (Auto)

Applies the automatic red-eye correction.

Note:
The red-eye correction can only be applied to the images with 20 million pixels or less.

When using this button, unexpected areas could be corrected in some images. In such a case, remove the check in Red-Eye Fix (Auto) and use Red-Eye Fix (Manual).

Apply to All Photos button

Applies Auto Correct, Scene Correction, Monochrome, Vivid & Clear, Brightness, Digital Camera Correction, and Red-Eye Fix (Auto) settings to all photos in the My Selection field except to the photos in RAW format.

Red-Eye Fix (Manual)

Applies the manual red-eye correction. When moving the cursor over the image, the cursor shape changes to the cross. Click and select the position of the red eye. You can specify up to 20 red-eye positions.

Note:
The red-eye correction can only be applied to the images with 20 million pixels or less.

Undo button

Cancels the last manual red-eye correction. Clicking this button does not affect the result of the automatic red-eye correction.

Clear button

Cancels all the manual red-eye correction. Clicking this button does not affect the result of the automatic red-eye correction.

Close button

Close this dialog box and return to the Layout and Print window.

Portrait Enhance button

Click to display the Portrait Enhance dialog box. Here you can make Face Definition and Skin Radiance corrections to photos. For details, see Layout and Print Window - Portrait Enhance Dialog Box.

Previous/Next button

Click Previous or Next to select a different photo to view or edit.

Comments

Adds comments for the photo, with up to 60 characters long. The comments entered here are displayed in the preview area of the Layout and Print window. This feature is only available when you select a comment-supporting layout in the layout selection list.

Apply to All Photos button

Adds the comments entered in Comments to all the photos in the My Selection field.

*  These options are available only when you select the PhotoEnhance setting in Auto Correct.
**  When you select Night Scene correction, Monochrome setting is not available.

Print Correction Dialog Box for RAW data

This dialog box is displayed when you select RAW data in the My Selection field and click the Image Correct button in the Layout and Print window.

Note:
RAW data without thumbnail takes more time to be displayed.

The following table explains the items in the Print Correction dialog box for RAW data.

Fit to Window

Select the check box to view the entire image in the preview area.

Help

Click this button to show the help information for the screen currently displayed.

Histogram

Displays the distribution of brightness and color of the image in the preview area.

Scene

Applies an automatic correction according to the selected scene. Select between No Adjustment, Standard, People, Landscapes, and Night Scene.

Lightness (Exposure)

Adjusts exposure in 13 levels.

White Balance

Selects white balance between As shot, Daylight, Cloudy, Shade, Fluorescent, Incandescent, and Flash. If a black-and-white photo is selected, White Balance is not available.

Red-Eye Fix (Auto)

Applies the automatic red-eye correction.

Note:
The red-eye correction can only be applied to images with 20 million pixels or less.

Apply to All Photos button

Applies settings made in Scene, Lightness (Exposure), White Balance, and Red-Eye Fix (Auto) to all RAW files in the My Selection field.
